4 Recipes To Make Compotes At Home

  • First, put the water and sugar together in a pot and bring it to a simmer over low heat.
  • Allow the sugar to dissolve little by little and let it cook for a few minutes until a syrup forms.
  • Then wash, peel and core the apples. Cut them into very small pieces and add to the pot when you notice that the syrup is done and is bubbling slightly.
  • Then, put the cinnamon stick and cover the pot, letting it cook for about 30 minutes over low heat.
  • Do not leave the pot alone because the time will depend on the type of apple you use and the size of the pieces.

If you don’t like cinnamon, you can add vanilla instead. This applesauce can be served warm or you can let it cool and serve with ice cream. Eat it however you like, there are no rules, except enjoy it.

Make compotes at home with cornstarch and blackberry juice

This is much simpler and is usually prepared for babies, but you can also taste it. This recipe for making compotes at home is so simple that you can decide the amount of each ingredient depending on the consistency you like. Here we will give you the simple steps.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cornstarch (120 g).
  • Blackberry juice (200 ml).
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml).

Preparation

  • Depending on how much you want, place the blackberry juice in a pot. If you want, you can also prepare the blackberry juice.
  • Then, prepare the cornstarch with a cup of water, until it is very dissolved.
  • Pour this mixture into the boiling juice and stir until it boils again.
  • If you notice that the mixture is too thick, add more juice until you get the desired consistency.
  • Finally, serve when it is warm or once it has cooled completely. Enjoy it with your baby at any snack.

Pineapple compote

  • 1 pineapple (100 g).
  • 3 cups of water (720 ml).
  • 1/2 cup of water (120 ml).
  • 1 1/2 cup of sugar (240 g).
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons of cornstarch (approximately 80 g).

Preparation

  • First, peel the pineapple, remove the center and cut into very small pieces.
  • Next, pour the 3 cups of water together with the pineapple pieces in the blender bowl and blend well.
  • Strain the juice. You can support yourself with a spoon to press and drain all the juice.
  • Then, put this juice in a pot and add the sugar. Stir constantly to avoid sticking.
  • Next, dilute the cornstarch in the 1/2 cup of water and add to the juice in the pot.
  • Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Finally, let it cool down to room temperature and store in the glass containers. Take them to the refrigerator and consume when you want.

Mango compote

  • 4 mangoes at their point of maturity (120 g).
  • 1 cup of sugar (225 g).
  • Ground cinnamon (to taste)
  • 2 lemons (40 g).

Preparation

  • First, peel the mangoes and remove all the pulp with a knife.
  • Then, grind these pieces into a fine paste.
  • Then, put this pasta to heat, over low heat, in a pot.
  • Add the juice of the two lemons, the sugar and cinnamon to taste.
  • Stir constantly over low heat.

This compote will be ready until it has a creamy consistency. We recommend that you store it in clean jars and close them hermetically.
